Another year, another successful EthCC! What started out as a boutique conference for like-minded European Ethereum nerds has grown so much that in its 7th iteration, the venue spanned 3 days, multiple floors and stages making it one of the busiest weeks on the web3 calendar this year.
Taking place for the first time in Brussels, Belgium, the new location welcomes the crypto curious and degens with open arms. Local cafes and restaurants didn’t bat an eyelid as the merch-clad crowds wandered through their doors, welcoming them with a friendly “Bonjour”.

EthCC this year reflected the optimism of the bull(ish) market after last year’s uncertainty in the bear. Attendees were looking to see what was trending and invested time in chatting, catching up and digging into narratives like staking, L2 development and especially AI.
A highlight was the back-to-back talks by three Ethereum founders, Joe Lubin, Gavin Wood and Vitalik Buterin. While each discussed a very different side of the space, on the 10th anniversary of the development of Ethereum, this was a significant cultural moment to witness.

For the media, EthCC proved a great opportunity to get face-to-face with some of the leaders in Web3. Our media rooms were booked from morning till evening with journalists wanting to get to the bottom of what all of this is really about, and where we should be looking to next when it comes to development and growth.
On top of managing the press and making sure everyone made it to their interviews, the YAP team were busy yapping away to anyone who would listen at our booth. Rumour has it the Tintin-inspired YAP swag was the most coveted, with plenty willing to sign up to The Context for a chance at a tote and a t-shirt.

After four exhausting but fulfilling days, we all backed up our bags and booths and headed home. Excited to see what EthCC[8] brings in 2025 – looking forward to meeting everyone again in Cannes, France!
